عبد المسيح على اسمِ عبد منافِ
O house of Ḥaydara, whose cheeks are smeared with dust—
O people of Haydara, their cheeks smeared with dust
O clan of Haydara, whose cheeks are soiled in dust,
ʿAbd al-Masīḥ under the name of ʿAbd Manāf!
Abdul-Masih is named after Abd Manaf
Abd al-Masih parading the name of Abd Manaf,

ويَرينَ عاراً شدَّةَ الإقراف
Dogs disdain having him as their father,
Would that dogs might choose him as a father
The very dogs disdain to have him as their sire,
And deem such extreme baseness of ancestry a disgrace.
And think it shameful, his great sin
And view the depth of such mixed lineage as a shame.

Do not combine the Nabataeans’ speech with your arrogance,
Do not combine the language of Nabit with your wandering
Do not combine the Nabatean tongue with haughty pride,
Nor your origins with the names of nobles.
And your origins and the names of nobles
Nor mix your roots with the titles of the noble-born.
