Hail to you, oath! And I would ransom the one who swore it.
You were greeted with an oath, and I ransom the swearer
Blessed be the oath, and I ransom the one who swore it,
Mankind has come to revere and exalt him.
The people have become reverent and honoring of him
To whom all mankind has turned in reverence and awe.
وَإِذاand when طَلَبتُI sought رِضاfavor الأَميرِthe emir بِشُربِهاby drinking it
وَإِذا طَلَبتُ رِضا الأَميرِ بِشُربِها

وَأَخَذتُها فَلَقَد تَرَكتُ الأَحرَما
And when I seek the emir’s favor by drinking it,
And if I sought the ruler’s favor by drinking it
For if I seek the Prince's favor by quaffing the wine,
and take it, then I have indeed forsaken what is more forbidden.
And took it, I would have surely abandoned the sacred
And seize the cup, I have truly forsaken the forbidden.
