Through hope of your generosity, poverty is driven away.

And through enmity toward you, life runs out.

The glass took pride in your drinking from it.

And the wine scorned whoever spurned it.

And you remained untouched by it, though it intoxicates us,

So much so that intoxication seemed to fear you.

No one is looked to for an act of generosity

Except God and you, O Badr.
