للملكto the king وand للسوقةto the common folk
للملك و للسوقة
للعالمto the learned وand الجاهلthe ignorant
للعالم و الجاهل
To the king and to the common folk,
To the learned and the ignorant,
للمؤمنto the believer وand الملحدthe atheist
للمؤمن و الملحد
للعاملto the worker وand لربto the master of العملthe work
للعامل و لرب العمل
To the believer and the atheist,
To the worker and to the employer.
لهذاfor this reason حبlove الزهرthe flowers تقاسمهshared it الكلeveryone.
لهذا حب الزهر تقاسمه الكل.

لاno باسharm إنif شردwas displaced شعبa people كلهall of it
لا باس إن شرد شعب كله
وبقيand remained الكرسيthe seat فيin مكانهits place،
وبقي الكرسي في مكانه،

في صفعها بالغمِّ كفُّ لهيبِ
إذfor كلماwhenever ذاقواthey tasted مساءةthe distress of حرهاits heat
إذ كلما ذاقوا مساءة حرها
A hand of flame has slapped them with grief.
For whenever they taste the distress of its heat,
يؤتىis brought لهمto them منfrom أختهاits sister بنصيبِwith a share
يؤتى لهم من أختها بنصيبِ
They are given a share from its sister.
