He shunned me for no sin except that love for him

Has made its home in the dark core of the heart.

وإن كان ذنبي أن قلبي يحبه

وإن كان ذنبي أن قلبي يحبه

فإني مصرّ ما بقيت على ذنبي

فإني مصرّ ما بقيت على ذنبي

And if my sin is that my heart loves him,

Then I shall persist in my sin as long as I live.
