وصل المليح حباليه
What have the talebearers to do with me?
Why do the slanderers care, and what's it to them?
The fair one has joined my cords.
The beloved has arrived with his ropes.

القريب وأمه بحياليه
Indeed, yesterday he was—
Just yesterday,
So recently—before me with his mother.
He was nearby with his mother watching me.

Indeed, when the fair one draws near,
When the beloved draws near,
Those nights are adorned.
Those nights become my state.

ترى المودة بالية
And when the beloved forgets the lover,
And if the beloved asks his lover,
You see affection worn out.
You'll see the affection is nil.

Convey my greetings to the beloved.
The beloved bid me peace,
My soul and my wealth have ransomed him.
My soul ransoms him and what's mine.

The beloved’s person and his very self,
The beloved's figure and self
By God, are precious to me.
By God, are so dear to me.

That the beloved, to the right of me

Is his place and to my left.
