Withdrawal from humankind, though a grave ordeal,
To leave the world behind, though hard it be
Is, to me, easier than enduring the ignoble.
Is better than to bear base company.

كدرته مؤونة الاحتشام
And meeting friends is sweet, yet
Sweet is the meeting with one's kith and kin
The burden of formal reserve has clouded it.
Though marred if dignity checked freedom in.
