جَلَبتُI brought لَكَto you الثَناءَpraise فَجاءَso it came عَفواًspontaneously
جَلَبتُ لَكَ الثَناءَ فَجاءَ عَفواً
وَنَفسُand the soul الشِكرِof gratitude مُطلَقَةُfreed from العِقالِthe hobble
وَنَفسُ الشِكرِ مُطلَقَةُ العِقالِ
I brought you praise, and it came spontaneously,
I brought you praise, and it came freely
and gratitude’s soul is freed from its hobble.
While gratitude itself loosens shackles
