فَلَمso did not أَرَI see كَالأَقدامِlike the feet صارَتbecame سَواعِداًforearms
فَلَم أَرَ كَالأَقدامِ صارَت سَواعِداً
وَلَمand did not أَرَI see كَالدَيّوثِlike the complacent cuckold أَحلَمَmore forbearing مَنظَراin appearance
وَلَم أَرَ كَالدَيّوثِ أَحلَمَ مَنظَرا
So I have never seen the like of feet that became forearms,
I've never seen feet become arms,
Nor have I seen anyone more forbearing in appearance than the cuckold.
Nor a cuckold more handsome in form.
وَإِنand if غَفَلَwas heedless الدَيّوثُthe complacent cuckold عَنهاof her تَقَنَّعَتshe veiled herself
وَإِن غَفَلَ الدَيّوثُ عَنها تَقَنَّعَت
بِثَوبِin the robe of الدُجىdarkness تَرتادُshe seeks مَزنىًa place for adultery وَمَعهَراand a brothel
بِثَوبِ الدُجى تَرتادُ مَزنىً وَمَعهَرا
And if the cuckold is heedless of her, she veils herself
If he's inattentive, she'll make do
In the robe of darkness, seeking a place for adultery and a brothel.
With the cloak of night to find pastures and meadows.
