يَزحَرُ في مِحرابِهِ
زَحيرَthe groaning of حُبلىa pregnant woman لِلوَلَدto bear the child
زَحيرَ حُبلى لِلوَلَد
He groans in his prayer niche,
He roars in his sanctuary
like a pregnant woman groaning to bear a child;
Like a pregnant she-lion roaring for her cubs
كَأَنَّماas though لِسانُهُhis tongue
كَأَنَّما لِسانُهُ
شُدَّwas bound بِحَبلٍwith a rope مِنof مَسَدpalm fiber
شُدَّ بِحَبلٍ مِن مَسَد
as though his tongue
As if his tongue
were bound with a rope of palm fiber.
Is tied with a cord of fiber
