قَبِّلkiss أَنامِلَهُhis fingertips فَلَسنَfor they are not أَنامِلاًfingertips
قَبِّل أَنامِلَهُ فَلَسنَ أَنامِلاً
لَكِنَّهُنَّbut they are مَفاتِحُkeys to الأَرزاقِsustenance
لَكِنَّهُنَّ مَفاتِحُ الأَرزاقِ
Kiss his fingertips, for they are not mere fingertips,
But keys to sustenance.
وَاِذكُرand recount صَنائِعَهُhis favors فَلَسنَfor they are not صَنائِعاًfavors
وَاِذكُر صَنائِعَهُ فَلَسنَ صَنائِعاً
لَكِنَّهُنَّbut they are قَلائِدُnecklaces الأَعناقِnecks
لَكِنَّهُنَّ قَلائِدُ الأَعناقِ
And recount his favors, for they are not mere favors,
But necklaces around necks.
يَلقاكَmeets you مِنهُfrom him ثَناؤُهُhis praise وَعَطاؤُهُand his bounty
يَلقاكَ مِنهُ ثَناؤُهُ وَعَطاؤُهُ
بِذَكاءِwith the intensity of رائِحَةٍfragrance وَطيبِand the pleasantness of مَذاقِtaste
بِذَكاءِ رائِحَةٍ وَطيبِ مَذاقِ
From him, his praise and bounty reach you,
With a powerful fragrance and a pleasant taste.
كَالشَمسِlike the sun فيin كَبِدِthe heart of السَماءِthe sky مَحَلُّهاits place
كَالشَمسِ في كَبِدِ السَماءِ مَحَلُّها
وَشُعاعُهاand its rays قَدindeed شاعَhave spread فيacross الآفاقِthe horizons
وَشُعاعُها قَد شاعَ في الآفاقِ
Like the sun, whose place is in the heart of the sky,
And whose rays have spread across the horizons.
