وَحَياتي ما آلَفُ الداماني

لا وَلا كانَ في قَديمِ الزَمانِ

لا وَلا كانَ في قَديمِ الزَمانِ

By my life, I do not keep company with al-Damani.

And my life, I have never known restlessness,

No, nor was it so in ancient times.

No, not even in the days of old.
