مَتَىwhen أَرَىI see الحَقَّthe truth يَصْفُوgrows clear مِنْfrom تَكَدُّرِهِits murkiness
والفِكْرَand thought يَخْلُدُfinds repose مِنْfrom قيلٍ'it was said' ومِنْand from قَالِ'he said'
When shall I see truth grow clear of its murk,
When will I see the truth clear of its turbidity,
And thought find repose from hearsay and idle talk,
And thought transcend saying and telling?
والحَقَّand the truth يَمْضِيadvances وكَفَّand the hand الدّينِof religion باسِطَةًoutstretched
لاnot يُستَطاعُis possible لَهُfor it دَفْعٌrepulsion عَلَىunder حالِa circumstance
And truth advance, and religion's hand outstretched,
Truth prevails, and religion extends its hand,
With no way to repel it under any circumstance,
Irresistible, come what may.
والعَدْلَand justice فيin عِزَّةٍhonor والجَوْرَand injustice فاعِلُهُits perpetrator

And justice held in honor, and the perpetrator of injustice
Justice is mighty, its practitioner abased,
In humiliation, filled with fears and terrors,
Full of fears and miseries.

And the Sunnah of al-Mustafa, the Chosen One, prevailing
The exemplary way of the Chosen One prevails
Over every innovator who fiercely assails through rejection?
Over all heretical innovation, scattering it.

The self has long regaled me with tales
In this arena, a discourse of lofty standing.
Of its lofty role in this sphere.
