إِنَّindeed للهِbelonging to God فيamong العبادِthe servants رِجالاًmen
إِنَّ للهِ في العبادِ رِجالاً
قَدْalready صَفَوْاthey have grown pure منْfree from شوَائِبِimpurities التَّكْديرِclouding
قَدْ صَفَوْا منْ شوَائِبِ التَّكْديرِ
Indeed, God has men among His servants
Indeed God has among His servants men
who have grown pure, free from clouding impurities.
Who have been purified from the turbidities of worries,
خَصَّهُمْHe singled them out خالِقُthe Creator of الخلائِقall creatures بالعِلْwith knowledge (word continues)
خَصَّهُمْ خالِقُ الخلائِق بالعِلْ
مِcompletion of 'knowledge' ببَعْضِof certain الأمُورِmatters بالتَّنويرِthrough illumination
مِ ببَعْضِ الأمُورِ بالتَّنويرِ
The Creator of all creatures has singled them out with knowledge
The Creator of all creatures has granted them knowledge,
of certain matters through illumination.
Enlightening them about some matters.
طَالَمَاfor a long time قَدْindeed طَلَبْتُI have sought لُقْياءَa meeting with فَرْدٍone person
طَالَمَا قَدْ طَلَبْتُ لُقْياءَ فَرْدٍ
مِنْهُمُof them سائِلاًbeseeching لرَبٍّto a Lord قَديرِall-powerful
مِنْهُمُ سائِلاً لرَبٍّ قَديرِ
Long have I sought to meet one
I have long sought to meet one of them,
of them, beseeching an all-powerful Lord.
Asking of my Lord, the All Powerful,
ياO إلَهِيmy God اُمنُنْbestow Your favor بِفَرْدٍwith one person منَfrom الْقَوْthe people (word continues)
يا إلَهِي اُمنُنْ بِفَرْدٍ منَ الْقَوْ
مِcompletion of 'people' لِتَحْليلِto unravel بَعْضِsome of ماwhat فيin ضَمِيريmy inner self
مِ لِتَحْليلِ بَعْضِ ما في ضَمِيري
O my God, bless me with one of these people
My God, endow me with one of those people
to unravel some of what lies within me.
To resolve some of what is in my conscience.
