لا أَتْركُ الإلْحاحا

لا أَتْركُ الإلْحاحا

مَسائِيَ والصَّباحا

مَسائِيَ والصَّباحا

I will not cease my pleading,

in my evening and in the morning,

وأَوْضَحَ النّهارِ

وأَوْضَحَ النّهارِ

وظُلْمَةَ الأسْحارِ

وظُلْمَةَ الأسْحارِ

and in the brightest daylight,

and in the darkness before dawn,

حَتَّى أَرَى الإجابَه

حَتَّى أَرَى الإجابَه

تأتي بلا اسْتِرابَهْ

تأتي بلا اسْتِرابَهْ

until I see the answer

come without a doubt.

أَرْجوكَ يا رَبَّ السَّما

أَرْجوكَ يا رَبَّ السَّما

بأنْ تُجيبَ كُلَّ ما

بأنْ تُجيبَ كُلَّ ما

I beseech You, O Lord of heaven,

to fulfill every

أَدْعو بِهِ مِنْ حَاجَهْ

أَدْعو بِهِ مِنْ حَاجَهْ

طالَتْ بِها اللّجاجهْ

طالَتْ بِها اللّجاجهْ

need for which I pray,

for which my pleading has lasted so long.

وَمَا أَرَى لِي مَنْهَجاً

وَمَا أَرَى لِي مَنْهَجاً

إِليْكَ إلاّ بالرَّجا

إِليْكَ إلاّ بالرَّجا

And I see no path for myself

to You except through hope.

ولَمْ يكُنْ لي عَمْلٌ

ولَمْ يكُنْ لي عَمْلٌ

يُرْجَى بِهِ الْتّوَسُّلُ

يُرْجَى بِهِ الْتّوَسُّلُ

Nor have I any deed

by which I might hope to draw near.

فإِنَّني مُخَلِّطُ

فإِنَّني مُخَلِّطُ

مُقَصِّرٌ مُفَرِّطُ

مُقَصِّرٌ مُفَرِّطُ

For I mix good deeds with bad,

falling short and neglecting my duties.

يا غَافِرَ الذُّنوبِ

يا غَافِرَ الذُّنوبِ

وساتِرَ الْعُيُوبِ

وساتِرَ الْعُيُوبِ

O Forgiver of sins,

and Concealer of faults,

وَقابِلَ الْمَتابِ

وَقابِلَ الْمَتابِ

ورَافِعَ الْعِقابِ

ورَافِعَ الْعِقابِ

and Acceptor of repentance,

and Remover of punishment,

هَا أَنا ذَا مُسْتَغْفِرُ

هَا أَنا ذَا مُسْتَغْفِرُ

وتَائِبٌ مُعْتَذِرُ

وتَائِبٌ مُعْتَذِرُ

here I am, seeking forgiveness,

and repentant, offering my apology,

ونادِمٌ وعازِمُ

ونادِمٌ وعازِمُ

وبالْمَتابِ جازِمُ

وبالْمَتابِ جازِمُ

and remorseful and resolved,

and firmly determined to repent.
