سَلامٌ عَلَى أَهْلِ الصَّفا والْحَقائِقِ

سَلامٌ عَلَى أَهْلِ الصَّفا والْحَقائِقِ

وأَرْبابِ كَشْفِ المعْضِلاتِ الدَّقائِقِ

وأَرْبابِ كَشْفِ المعْضِلاتِ الدَّقائِقِ

Peace upon the people of purity and realities,

Peace be upon the people of purity and truth,

And upon the masters who unveil intricate difficulties.

And the masters of unveiling subtle perplexities.

سَلاَمُ مَشُوقٍ قَدْ تَضَاعَفَ وَجْدُهُ

سَلاَمُ مَشُوقٍ قَدْ تَضَاعَفَ وَجْدُهُ

إلَيْكُمْ فَهَلْ فيكُمْ لَهْ مِنْ مُوافِقِ

إلَيْكُمْ فَهَلْ فيكُمْ لَهْ مِنْ مُوافِقِ

The greeting of one who yearns, whose ardor has redoubled,

A greeting from one who yearns, whose ardor has redoubled

Goes out to you—is there among you anyone in accord with him?

For you—so is there among you anyone in sympathy with him?

وَهَلْ تُسْعِدُ الأَقْدارُ يَوماً بواحِدٍ

وَهَلْ تُسْعِدُ الأَقْدارُ يَوماً بواحِدٍ

فَواحِدُكُمْ جَمْعٌ لِجَمْعِ الْعَلائِقِِ

فَواحِدُكُمْ جَمْعٌ لِجَمْعِ الْعَلائِقِِ

And will fortune ever gladden me, one day, with even one of you?

And will the fates one day favor me with one of you?

For one of you alone is a whole multitude, embracing every bond.

For one of you is a whole company, bringing all ties together.

وَهَلْ لِي إلى تِلْكَ الْعُلومِ طَرِيقَةٌ

وَهَلْ لِي إلى تِلْكَ الْعُلومِ طَرِيقَةٌ

وَهَلْ لِي مَجازٌ نَحْوَ تِلْكَ الْحَقائِقِِ

وَهَلْ لِي مَجازٌ نَحْوَ تِلْكَ الْحَقائِقِِ

And is there for me a way to those sciences?

And is there a path for me to those sciences?

And is there for me a passage toward those realities?

And is there a passage for me toward those truths?
