دُ عَلى أَنّنا نَصيدُ الأُسودا

We are a people whom black eyes hunt,

We are a people whose eyes hunt the black

even though we hunt lions.

Thinking that we hunt the lions

وَتَراها عَلى المُلوكِ مُلوكاً

وَتَراها عَلى المُلوكِ مُلوكاً

وَتَرانا لَدى المِلاحِ عَبيدا

وَتَرانا لَدى المِلاحِ عَبيدا

And you see them as kings over kings,

You see them as kings over kings

and you see us as slaves before beauties.

Yet you see us next to sailors as slaves
