قَدindeed طَيَّبواthey made fragrant القَهوةَthe coffee السُّوَيداthe little black one
قَد طَيَّبوا القَهوةَ السُّوَيدا
فيin عنبرٍa chamber فيهin it تُستَطابُit is savored
في عنبرٍ فيه تُستَطابُ
They have made the little black coffee fragrant
They sweetened the coffee, jet-black,
in a chamber where it is savored.
In a fragrant chamber where all is right.
فَصَحَّso it proved true عِنديto me الَّذيthat which اِدَّعتهُit claimed it
فَصَحَّ عِندي الَّذي اِدَّعتهُ
مِنْnamely أَنّهاthat it is العَنبرُthe ambergris المُذابُdissolved
مِنْ أَنّها العَنبرُ المُذابُ
So what it claimed proved true to me:
So the claim seemed to me justified -
that it is dissolved ambergris.
That it was amber dissolving in the night.
