The cheek-down appeared, and beauty indeed enfolds it,

On the two cheeks of his Mustafa, in all his majesty.

So musk hedged the rose along its sides,

Or myrtle hedged the rose in its freshness.

The cheek-down adorned his countenance and perfected it,

And with it he grew in perfection beyond its utmost limit.

And when he marked its date, he made it radiant and perfected it:

For the full moon is more perfect in beauty with its halo.
