سُليمانSuleiman الزّمانِof the age جُزيتَmay you be rewarded خَيراwith good
سُليمان الزّمانِ جُزيتَ خَيرا
وفيand in حُللِrobes القَبولِacceptance مِنَfrom الرّضاءِfavor
وفي حُللِ القَبولِ مِنَ الرّضاءِ
Suleiman of the age, may you be rewarded with good,
O Solomon of the age, you have been rewarded well,
and clothed in robes of acceptance born of favor.
And with the garments of acceptance from consent.
بَنيتَyou built لِوَجهِfor the sake of رَبّكَyour Lord سَلسَبيلاًa Salsabil fountain
بَنيتَ لِوَجهِ رَبّكَ سَلسَبيلاً
وَقَدand indeed أَجرَيتَyou made flow فيهin it خَيرَthe finest ماءِwater
وَقَد أَجرَيتَ فيه خَيرَ ماءِ
You built a Salsabil fountain for your Lord’s sake,
You have built for the sake of your Lord’s face a smooth road,
and you have made the finest water flow within it.
And you have made the best water run through it.
فَكَمso how many أَحياit revived فُؤاداًa heart ثُمّthen روحاًa soul
فَكَم أَحيا فُؤاداً ثُمّ روحاً
وَجِسماًand a body كادَwas about to يَدنوdraw near منto فناءِperishing
وَجِسماً كادَ يَدنو من فناءِ
So many a heart it has revived, then a soul,
So how many a heart, then a soul, have you revived,
and a body that was on the brink of perishing.
And a body that was near to perishing.
وَحَلَّand has arrived رُواؤهُits beauty أَرِّخrecord the date بِنَفسٍwith a soul
وَحَلَّ رُواؤهُ أَرِّخ بِنَفسٍ
جَزاكَmay He reward you اللَّهُGod فيin خَيرِthe finest الجَزاءِrecompense
جَزاكَ اللَّهُ في خَيرِ الجَزاءِ
And its beauty has arrived; date it with the word “soul”:
And its plentiful drink has restored a soul,
May God reward you with the finest recompense.
May God reward you with the best reward.
