سُلَيمانُ شَمسُ الوِزارةِ فَردا

سُلَيمانُ شَمسُ الوِزارةِ فَردا

أَجلُّ أَميرٍ تَسمَّى وَزيرا

أَجلُّ أَميرٍ تَسمَّى وَزيرا

Sulayman, peerless sun of the vizierate,

Solomon, the sun of ministry, unique

The most eminent emir to bear the title of vizier.

The greatest prince who was called minister

بَنى سَلسَبيلاً صَفا فيهِ ماءٌ

بَنى سَلسَبيلاً صَفا فيهِ ماءٌ

فَكانَ فُراتاً وَعَذباً نَميرا

فَكانَ فُراتاً وَعَذباً نَميرا

He built a Salsabil fountain whose water was clear,

He built Sabil, pure water flows in it

So it was fresh and sweet, pure and wholesome.

So it became Euphrates, and very fresh water

فَحَقَّ عَلَينا كلّ وَقتٍ

فَحَقَّ عَلَينا كلّ وَقتٍ

دُعاءٌ عَظيمٌ يُوالى كَثيرا

دُعاءٌ عَظيمٌ يُوالى كَثيرا

Thus, at every moment, we are bound to offer

It is incumbent upon us at all times

Great prayers, repeated often,

Great prayer, so much is accustomed

وَمَدحٌ وَأَرّخ وَحَمدٌ دَواماً

وَمَدحٌ وَأَرّخ وَحَمدٌ دَواماً

فَها قَد سَقانا شَراباً طَهورا

فَها قَد سَقانا شَراباً طَهورا

And praise and lasting thanks—and record the date:

And praise, dating and thanks always

So behold, he has indeed given us a pure drink.

So he has quenched us with pure drink
