فَذيso this نِعمَةٌa blessing جَلَّتwas sublime وأحيَتand revived متيَّماًone enthralled by love
فَذي نِعمَةٌ جَلَّت وأحيَت متيَّماً
وَقَدand indeed أَنعَمَbestowed favor المَولَىthe Lord عَليَّupon me بهاwith it وَحْديme alone
وَقَد أَنعَمَ المَولَى عَليَّ بها وَحْدي
So this is a sublime blessing that has revived one enthralled by love.
A blessing it was that exalted and revived Mutayyam,
And the Lord has bestowed it upon me alone.
Though alone I was graced by my Lord with it.
وَلَستُand I am not بِناسيهاone who forgets it الزَّمانَfor all time وَإِنّنيand indeed I
وَلَستُ بِناسيها الزَّمانَ وَإِنّني
لَأَشكُرهاI shall surely give thanks for it دَوماًalways وَلَوand even if صِرْتI were to be فيin لَحْديmy grave
لَأَشكُرها دَوماً وَلَو صِرْت في لَحْدي
And I shall never forget it for all time; and indeed I
I'll not forget it whatever time may bring,
shall always give thanks for it, even if I lie in my grave.
But thank Him forever, even in my grave.
