تَطَفَّلتُI presumed مُذsince كنتَyou were لِلحُسنِfor beauty جَنّةًa paradise
تَطَفَّلتُ مُذ كنتَ لِلحُسنِ جَنّةً
عَلَيكَupon you بِإِهدائيby my giving إِلَيكَto you حريراsilk
عَلَيكَ بِإِهدائي إِلَيكَ حريرا
Since you have been a paradise of beauty, I have presumed
I have been longing for you since you were a garden of beauty
Upon you by presenting you with silk.
To bestow upon you my gift of silk
وَإِنّيَand indeed I لَوif أُهديكI give you ياO بَحرُsea كُلَّall ماthat
وَإِنّيَ لَو أُهديك يا بَحرُ كُلَّ ما
أَراهُI see it عَلىupon الدّنياthe world لَكانَthen it would be حَقيراpaltry
أَراهُ عَلى الدّنيا لَكانَ حَقيرا
And indeed, were I to give you, O sea, all that
And truly if I were to gift you, O sea, everything
I see in this world, it would be paltry.
I see in this world, it would be paltry
