O you whose glance is a sword, enchantment has become its essence.
Oh moment when the sword's magic lies in its blade
And the sword's glory lies in the patterned luster within it.
And the blade holds honor, gushing freely
قَدindeed سالَflowed مِنهُfrom it وَماand not الأَجفانُthe eyelids تَمنَعُهُthey restrain it
قَد سالَ مِنهُ وَما الأَجفانُ تَمنَعُهُ

مِن أَن يَسيلَ وَتُبدِي العَجزَ تَعترفُ
It has flowed from it, and the eyelids cannot keep it
No eyelids can stop its flow to reveal
From flowing; they reveal their helplessness and confess it.
Its might, though the lashes acknowledge their defeat
أَماhas ... not? لِأَجفانِهِto his eyelids قَدindeed سالَflowed جَوهرهُits essence
أَما لِأَجفانِهِ قَد سالَ جَوهرهُ

أَلَيسَ مِن بَعضهِ الأَهدابُ وَالوطفُ
Has its essence not flowed to his eyelids?
Has not its essence streamed from the eyes?
Are not the lashes and their luxuriance part of it?
Are not the lashes and lids part of its whole?
