يا مَن يُجيبُ الدّاعيا

يا مَن يُجيبُ الدّاعيا

وَيَسمعُ المُناجِيا

وَيَسمعُ المُناجِيا

O You who answer the supplicant

O You who answers the supplicant

and hear the one who communes with You,

And hears the one confiding

مَليكَنا رَبِّ لَهُ

مَليكَنا رَبِّ لَهُ

كُنْ ناصِراً وَحامِيا

كُنْ ناصِراً وَحامِيا

our sovereign, my Lord—for him

Our King, Lord, His

be a helper and protector.

Be a helper and protector

أَيِّدهُ يا رَبَّ الوَرى

أَيِّدهُ يا رَبَّ الوَرى

يا مَن يَرى ولا يُرى

يا مَن يَرى ولا يُرى

Support him, O Lord of creation,

Support him, O Lord of all

O You who see but are not seen.

O You who sees and is unseen

وَكُن لَهُ مُدبِّرا

وَكُن لَهُ مُدبِّرا

وَواقياً وَكافِيا

وَواقياً وَكافِيا

And be the director of his affairs,

And be for him well-Planner

and his guardian and sufficiency.

And protector and suffice

بِالصّادِقِ المَصدوقِ

بِالصّادِقِ المَصدوقِ

وَالسّيِّدِ الصدِّيقِ

وَالسّيِّدِ الصدِّيقِ

By the truthful one, to whom truth is told,

By the truthful, the believed

and the master, al-Siddiq,

And the master, the loyal

وَالسيِّدِ الفاروقِ

وَالسيِّدِ الفاروقِ

اِنصرهُ نَصراً وافيا

اِنصرهُ نَصراً وافيا

and the master, al-Faruq,

And the master, the separator

grant him a complete victory.

Help him fully

يا رَبِّ بِالشّيخِ الشّهيدْ

يا رَبِّ بِالشّيخِ الشّهيدْ

عُثماننا الحَبر الحَميدْ

عُثماننا الحَبر الحَميدْ

O my Lord, by the martyred sheikh,

O Lord with the martyred Sheikh

our Uthman, the praiseworthy scholar,

Our Uthman, the virtuous, praiseworthy

كَذاكَ بِاللّيثِ الشّديدْ

كَذاكَ بِاللّيثِ الشّديدْ

لِلشّرعِ كانَ القاضِيا

لِلشّرعِ كانَ القاضِيا

likewise, by the mighty lion

And with the fierce lion

who was the judge of sacred law,

Who was judge for the Law

بِآلِ خَيرِ المُرسَلينْ

بِآلِ خَيرِ المُرسَلينْ

وَصَحبِهِ أَهلِ اليَمينْ

وَصَحبِهِ أَهلِ اليَمينْ

by the family of the best of messengers,

With the family of the best Messenger

and his companions, the people of the right hand,

And his companions, the people of the right

أَنِلْ إِمامَ المُسلمين

أَنِلْ إِمامَ المُسلمين

فَتحاً مُبيناً شافِيا

فَتحاً مُبيناً شافِيا

grant the imam of the Muslims

Grant the leader of Muslims

a clear and healing victory.

A clear, healing conquest

رَبِّ بِسُكّانِ السّما

رَبِّ بِسُكّانِ السّما

وَما لَديكَ عُظِّما

وَما لَديكَ عُظِّما

My Lord, by the dwellers of heaven

O Lord, by the residents of the sky

and all that has been exalted in Your presence,

And what You have made great

عَلَيهِ جُدْ وَأَنعما

عَلَيهِ جُدْ وَأَنعما

بِأَخذِكَ الأَعادِيا

بِأَخذِكَ الأَعادِيا

be generous to him and bestow favor

Be gracious and beneficent to him

by Your seizing the enemies.

By seizing his enemies

سُلطاننا نِعمَ الإِمامْ

سُلطاننا نِعمَ الإِمامْ

مَحمودٌ اللّيثُ الهُمام

مَحمودٌ اللّيثُ الهُمام

Our sultan—what an excellent imam!

Our Sultan, excellent leader

Mahmud, the valiant lion.

Praiseworthy lion, ambitious

سَلِّمهُ يا ربّ السّلامْ

سَلِّمهُ يا ربّ السّلامْ

وَعَنهُ كُن مُحامِيا

وَعَنهُ كُن مُحامِيا

Keep him safe, O Lord of peace,

Safeguard him, O Lord of Peace

and be a defender on his behalf.

And about him be an advocate

رَبِّ أَدِمْ وُجودَهُ

رَبِّ أَدِمْ وُجودَهُ

وَاِنصُر لَهُ جنودَهُ

وَاِنصُر لَهُ جنودَهُ

My Lord, let his life endure,

O Lord, perpetuate his existence

and grant his armies victory for him.

And help his troops for him

وَأَعْلِيَنْ سُعودَهُ

وَأَعْلِيَنْ سُعودَهُ

وَأَبقِها عَوالِيا

وَأَبقِها عَوالِيا

And raise his fortunes high,

And elevate his good fortune

and keep them lofty.

And keep it lofty

وصُنْ به بلادَهُ

وصُنْ به بلادَهُ

وَأَعطِهِ مرادَهُ

وَأَعطِهِ مرادَهُ

And through him protect his lands,

And protect through him his country

and grant him his desire.

And give him his wishes

وَأَهلِكَن أَضدادَهُ

وَأَهلِكَن أَضدادَهُ

ودمِّر المعاديا

ودمِّر المعاديا

And destroy his adversaries,

And destroy his enemies

and annihilate the foe.

And ruin the hostile

وَاِنصُر ذَوي الإِسلامِ

وَاِنصُر ذَوي الإِسلامِ

عَلى العِدى الأَروامِ

عَلى العِدى الأَروامِ

And grant the people of Islam victory

And give victory to the Muslims

over the foes, the Rūm.

Over the hostile polytheists

يا خالِقَ الأَنامِ

يا خالِقَ الأَنامِ

لا تُبْقِ مِنهُم باقِيا

لا تُبْقِ مِنهُم باقِيا

O Creator of all beings,

O Creator of mankind

leave none of them remaining.

Leave none remaining

عَليهِم الرّزايا

عَليهِم الرّزايا

سَلِّط كَذا البَلايا

سَلِّط كَذا البَلايا

Upon them, calamities—

Hardships upon them

unleash them, and afflictions likewise;

Thus unleash tribulations

ثُمّ مِنَ المَنايا

ثُمّ مِنَ المَنايا

لُيوثها الضّواريا

لُيوثها الضّواريا

then, from the fates of death,

Then from death

their ravening lions.

Its beasts of prey

أَنزِل بِهِم كلَّ وَصَبْ

أَنزِل بِهِم كلَّ وَصَبْ

يَؤولُ فيهِم لِلعَطَبْ

يَؤولُ فيهِم لِلعَطَبْ

Send down upon them every sickness

Inflict upon them all affliction

that ends in their destruction.

Which leads them to perdition

وَفيهِمُ والِ الغَضبْ

وَفيهِمُ والِ الغَضبْ

وَواصل الدّواهِيا

وَواصل الدّواهِيا

And keep wrath upon them unceasing,

And in them the heat of wrath

and keep the calamities coming.

And continue the punishment

وَبَدِّدَنْ جُموعَهُمْ

وَبَدِّدَنْ جُموعَهُمْ

وَخُذهمُ جَميعَهُم

وَخُذهمُ جَميعَهُم

And scatter their hosts,

And scatter their multitudes

and seize them, every one.

And seize them all

وَصَيِّرنْ رُبوعَهُم

وَصَيِّرنْ رُبوعَهُم

مِنهم لَنا خَوالِيا

مِنهم لَنا خَوالِيا

And make their dwellings

And turn their lands

empty of them, for us.

For us into empty wastelands

دامَ الرّدى فيهِم يُلِمّ

دامَ الرّدى فيهِم يُلِمّ

يا رَبّ مِنهُم فَاِنتَقِمْ

يا رَبّ مِنهُم فَاِنتَقِمْ

May death keep visiting them;

May havoc amongst them persist

O Lord, then take vengeance on them.

O Lord, from them take vengeance

وَضَعْ بِهِم يا مُنتَقِمْ

وَضَعْ بِهِم يا مُنتَقِمْ

سُيوفكَ المَواضِيا

سُيوفكَ المَواضِيا

And set against them, O Avenger,

And place upon them, O Avenger

Your keen-edged swords.

Your sharp swords

لِلمُسلِمينَ مَغنما

لِلمُسلِمينَ مَغنما

صَيِّرهُمُ رَبَّ السّما

صَيِّرهُمُ رَبَّ السّما

Into booty for the Muslims

For the Muslims make it war spoils

turn them, O Lord of heaven.

Make it for them, O Lord of Heaven

وَجُدْ بِذا وأَكْرِما

وَجُدْ بِذا وأَكْرِما

يا رَبِّ يا إِلاهِيا

يا رَبِّ يا إِلاهِيا

And grant this in bounty, and be generous,

Be generous and noble with this

O my Lord, O my God.

O Lord, O my God

ثمَّ الصّلاةُ وَالسّلامْ

ثمَّ الصّلاةُ وَالسّلامْ

عَلى الشّفيعِ في الأَنامْ

عَلى الشّفيعِ في الأَنامْ

Then blessings and peace

Then prayers and peace

upon the intercessor among all beings,

Upon the intercessor of mankind

وَالآلِ وَالصّحبِ الكِرامْ

وَالآلِ وَالصّحبِ الكِرامْ

مَن جَمَعوا المَعالِيا

مَن جَمَعوا المَعالِيا

and the noble family and companions,

And the family and the honored companions

who have gathered lofty virtues.
