سُلَيمانَSulayman الزَّمانthe age بَنَيتَyou built حَوضاًa basin
سُلَيمانَ الزَّمان بَنَيتَ حَوضاً
مَعَwith الإِخلاصِsincere devotion للَّهto God الجليلِthe Majestic
مَعَ الإِخلاصِ للَّه الجليلِ
O Sulayman of the age, you have built a basin,
O Suleiman, you built a fountain in your time
With sincere devotion to God, the Majestic.
With sincerity to God the Majestic
أَجَدتَyou perfected بِناءَهُits construction فيin حُسنِbeauty وَضْعٍdesign
أَجَدتَ بِناءَهُ في حُسنِ وَضْعٍ
تُريدُyou seek مضاعَفَmultiplied الأجرِthe reward الجزيلِabundant
تُريدُ مضاعَفَ الأجرِ الجزيلِ
You built it skillfully, with a fine design,
You constructed it with excellent placement
Seeking an abundant reward, multiplied.
Seeking abundant generous reward
سَقَيتَyou gave drink to النَّاسَthe people مِنهُfrom it عَذبَsweet ماءٍwater
سَقَيتَ النَّاسَ مِنهُ عَذبَ ماءٍ
بِهِwith it يُشفىis relieved الغليلُburning thirst مِنَfrom العَليلِthe ailing one
بِهِ يُشفى الغليلُ مِنَ العَليلِ
You gave the people sweet water to drink from it;
You quenched people with its fresh water
Through it, the ailing one's burning thirst is relieved.
With it the thirsty ailing one is healed
سَقاكَmay He give you drink اللَّهُGod رَبِّيmy Lord يَومَon the day of حَشرٍgathering
سَقاكَ اللَّهُ رَبِّي يَومَ حَشرٍ
وَقَدand indeed أَرّختI dated it مِنfrom حَوضِthe basin of الرّسولِthe Messenger
وَقَد أَرّخت مِن حَوضِ الرّسولِ
May God, my Lord, give you drink on the Day of Gathering,
May God, my Lord, quench you on the day of resurrection
From the Messenger's basin—and with these words I have dated it.
From the Prophet's fountain, for which you have gained merit
Sol 6.1
