O pearl placed in the middle of his cheek,
O pearl placed in the center of his garden
It became his beauty mark there when it clung to it.
It stuck to it and became a mole on it
هاجَتflared up بِهاbecause of it فَرَحاًwith joy نيرانُthe fires of وَجنَتِهِhis cheek
هاجَت بِها فَرَحاً نيرانُ وَجنَتِهِ

ذاتُ المَحاسِن فَاِسوَدَّت إذِ اِحتَرَقَت
The fires of his cheek flared up with joy at it—
The fires of his garden were delighted with it
That cheek so full of charms—and the pearl blackened as it burned.
The beautiful one blackened when it burned
