ياO رَحمةَmercy اللّهِof God سُحّيpour down
يا رَحمةَ اللّهِ سُحّي
وَعمّميand cover completely القبرَthe grave سَكباwith an outpouring
وَعمّمي القبرَ سَكبا
O mercy of God, pour down!
O Mercy of Allah, spread
And cover the whole grave with your outpouring—
And encompass this grave with pouring
قَبرَthe grave of الفَتىthe youth المُصطَفىal-Mustafa (the chosen one) مَنْwho
قَبرَ الفَتى المُصطَفى مَنْ
حَوىattained مِنَfrom اللَّهِGod قُرباnearness
حَوى مِنَ اللَّهِ قُربا
The grave of the youth al-Mustafa, who
The grave of the chosen youth who
Attained nearness to God,
Attained nearness to Allah
وَنالَand gained كَالقربِlike the nearness أرِّخrecord the date
وَنالَ كَالقربِ أرِّخ
فيin جَنّةِthe Garden of الخلدِeternity حُبّاlove
في جَنّةِ الخلدِ حُبّا
And gained, like that nearness—record the date—
And gained proximity, recount
Love in the Garden of Eternity.
