أَخا العِلمِ وَالعِرفانِ مَن لا يُشاركُ

أَخا العِلمِ وَالعِرفانِ مَن لا يُشاركُ

لِمِثلك في ذا العَصر قَلَّ المُشاركُ

لِمِثلك في ذا العَصر قَلَّ المُشاركُ

O brother of learning and spiritual insight, whom none can rival,

Brother of knowledge and understanding, few in this age can match you

Rare is the peer of one like you in this age.

You who are congratulated on a wedding you have decided upon

تَهَنّأ بِعرسٍ قَد هَمَمتَ بِأَمرِهِ

تَهَنّأ بِعرسٍ قَد هَمَمتَ بِأَمرِهِ

وَفيه يُهنّيك الوَرى وَالمَلائِكُ

وَفيه يُهنّيك الوَرى وَالمَلائِكُ

Rejoice in the wedding you have resolved to arrange;

Wherein all creation and angels give you joy

And humankind and the angels congratulate you on it.

May it be completed in cheer, purity, and ready success

يَتِمّ بِخَيرٍ في سُرورٍ مَعَ الصّفا

يَتِمّ بِخَيرٍ في سُرورٍ مَعَ الصّفا

وَسعد لَه التّوفيق أَضحى يداركُ

وَسعد لَه التّوفيق أَضحى يداركُ

May it be completed in goodness, joy, and serenity,

You, bride of excellence, adorned with its pearls

And good fortune, with success now following close behind.

From which necklaces are fashioned for you

وَأَنتَ عَروس الفَضلِ حَلّاك درُّه

وَأَنتَ عَروس الفَضلِ حَلّاك درُّه

وَمِن تِبرهِ صيغَت لديكَ السبائِكُ

وَمِن تِبرهِ صيغَت لديكَ السبائِكُ

And you are excellence's bridegroom; its pearls have adorned you,

Full moon of guidance and righteousness in every path

And from its raw gold, ingots were cast before you.

With its light the roads are illuminated

وَبَدرُ الهُدى وَالرّشد في كلِّ مَسلَكٍ

وَبَدرُ الهُدى وَالرّشد في كلِّ مَسلَكٍ

بِأَنوارِهِ ظَلَّت تُضيء المَسالكُ

بِأَنوارِهِ ظَلَّت تُضيء المَسالكُ

And the full moon of guidance and sound judgment on every path,

Sun of the enlightened in every gathering

By its lights, the paths keep shining.

By it the follower and wayfarer are rightly guided

وَشَمس ذَوي العرفانِ في كلِّ مَحفل

وَشَمس ذَوي العرفانِ في كلِّ مَحفل

بِها يَهتَدي رُشداً مريدٌ وَسالكُ

بِها يَهتَدي رُشداً مريدٌ وَسالكُ

And the sun of those endowed with spiritual insight in every gathering,

Keenest of the wise in every dilemma

By it, the seeker and the wayfarer find right guidance.

To his deep discernment thoughts are led

وَأَذكى ذَوي الأَفهامِ في كلِّ معضل

وَأَذكى ذَوي الأَفهامِ في كلِّ معضل

عَلى فقههِ اِنقادَت إِلَيهِ المَداركُ

عَلى فقههِ اِنقادَت إِلَيهِ المَداركُ

And the keenest of discerning minds in every difficult matter,

Hero of researchers in every battle

By virtue of his understanding, intellects have yielded to him.

In this the arenas bear him witness

وَفارِس أَهلِ البحثِ في كلِّ مَعرك

وَفارِس أَهلِ البحثِ في كلِّ مَعرك

لَهُ شَهِدت حَقّاً بِذاك المَعاركُ

لَهُ شَهِدت حَقّاً بِذاك المَعاركُ

And the knight of scholarly disputants in every battle,

One like you in this age is rare for a doctrine

The battles have truly borne witness to that in his favor.

By the like of you in this age Mālik takes pride

ومِثلك في ذا العَصرِ قَلَّ لِمذهبِ

ومِثلك في ذا العَصرِ قَلَّ لِمذهبِ

بِمِثلكَ في ذا العَصرِ يَفخرُ مالكُ

بِمِثلكَ في ذا العَصرِ يَفخرُ مالكُ

And one like you is rare in this age for a school of law;

My lord, pillar of glory in noble lineage

In this age, Malik takes pride in one like you.

From you the brilliants have gleamed for him

أَمَولايَ خِدن المَجدِ في نَسَبٍ سَما

أَمَولايَ خِدن المَجدِ في نَسَبٍ سَما

وَمِنكَ لَقَد لانَت لَديهِ العَرائكُ

وَمِنكَ لَقَد لانَت لَديهِ العَرائكُ

O my lord, companion of glory, of exalted lineage,

I congratulate you on this joyous, delightful wedding

And through you, dispositions have indeed grown gentle before him.

And give glad tidings, for in it is bounty, by Allah's grace

أُهنّيكَ في ذا العرسِ مَسرورَ مُهجَةٍ

أُهنّيكَ في ذا العرسِ مَسرورَ مُهجَةٍ

وَأَبشِرْ فَفيهِ الخَير واللَّهِ باركُ

وَأَبشِرْ فَفيهِ الخَير واللَّهِ باركُ

I congratulate you on this wedding, glad of heart;

That, and the date, in it his good fortune

And rejoice, for goodness, by God, abides in it.

You have attained congratulations in it, blessings upon you

وَذاكَ وَبِالتّاريخ فيهِ سعودهُ

وَذاكَ وَبِالتّاريخ فيهِ سعودهُ

وَحُزتَ الهَنا فيهِ عَلَيك مباركُ

وَحُزتَ الهَنا فيهِ عَلَيك مباركُ

And that—its good fortunes lie in the chronogram:

May you remain in Allah's protection, so long as dew moistened

And you have attained happiness in it; may it be blessed for you.

The blossoms' cheeks, and they are laughing

وَدُم في ضَمانِ اللَّهِ ما اِحتَست النّدى

وَدُم في ضَمانِ اللَّهِ ما اِحتَست النّدى

ثُغور رُبى الأَزهارِ وَهيَ ضَواحكُ

ثُغور رُبى الأَزهارِ وَهيَ ضَواحكُ

And remain in God's protection as long as dew is sipped

As long as a leaf has unfurled on its branch

By the mouths of flowered hills, as they smile;

As long as stars shine and others set

وَما قَد شَدا ورقٌ عَلى عودِ غصنِهِ

وَما قَد شَدا ورقٌ عَلى عودِ غصنِهِ

وَما كَوكبٌ بادٍ وَآخر دالكُ

وَما كَوكبٌ بادٍ وَآخر دالكُ

And as long as gray doves sing upon the wood of their bough,

As long as victory has called you my lord, my master

And as long as one star appears and another sets,

Brother of knowledge and understanding, few can match you

وَما الفَتحُ قَد ناداكَ مَولايَ سيّدي

وَما الفَتحُ قَد ناداكَ مَولايَ سيّدي

أَخا العِلمِ وَالعِرفان مَن لا يشاركُ

أَخا العِلمِ وَالعِرفان مَن لا يشاركُ

And as long as al-Fath calls to you, 'My lord, my master,

O brother of learning and spiritual insight, whom none can rival!'
