My soul for his face, which embraces beauty,
With my soul his face contains beauty
And has shone in beauty’s brightest splendor.
And in the most perfect of beauty it glows

بِهِ دارَ العِذارُ وَدارَ دارا
And his dusky-lipped mouth—upon its dark hue,
His gentle smile in its radiance
The cheek-down circled about it, and Dara circled too.
Makes the abode of chastity its abode
