وَجاءَ المَشيبُ وَقَد شَدَّ حيلا

My passion grew, and youth took wing and fled,
And gray hair came, having mustered its strength.
While hoariness its subtle arts spread.

Daylight appeared and does not fade.
The day appeared, and firm its reign will stay,
So, O Sulayma, shall I behold Layla?
Shall I, O Suleyma, my Layla see some day?
