بي عِذارُ الحِبِّ يَبدو

بي عِذارُ الحِبِّ يَبدو

فَوقَ وَردِ الخدّ ظَاهِرْ

فَوقَ وَردِ الخدّ ظَاهِرْ

My life for the beloved’s cheek-down, appearing

plain above the rose of the cheek!

قالَ لي وَهوَ عَلَيهِ

قالَ لي وَهوَ عَلَيهِ

دائِرٌ فيهِ وَسائِر

دائِرٌ فيهِ وَسائِر

It said to me, while over it

circling, and wandering within it:

أَنا في الوَردِ وَإِنّي

أَنا في الوَردِ وَإِنّي

لَعليهِ الدّهرَ دائِر

لَعليهِ الدّهرَ دائِر

“I am within the rose, and indeed

I circle over it forever.”
