سَرقتstole عَينيmy eye لمّاwhen أَنْthat (linking particle) بدَاappeared
سَرقت عَيني لمّا أَنْ بدَا
خَالُهُhis mole الباديvisible بِإِحدىon one of الوَجنتَينِthe two cheeks
خَالُهُ البادي بِإِحدى الوَجنتَينِ
My eye stole, when it appeared,
When his cheek appeared in view
His mole, visible on one of his cheeks.
My eyes stole it away
قالَhe said ليto me جِئنيcome to me بِهِwith it قلتُI said لَهُto him
قالَ لي جِئني بِهِ قلتُ لَهُ
إِنّنيindeed I أُعطيهI give it مِنfrom حَبَّةِthe pupil of عَينيmy eye
إِنّني أُعطيه مِن حَبَّةِ عَيني
He said to me, “Bring it to me”; I said to him,
He said to me: bring it to me
“Indeed, I will give it from the pupil of my eye.”
I said: I would give it my eye's love
