عافاكَ ربّي وَأَرجو اللَّه يَشفيكا

عافاكَ ربّي وَأَرجو اللَّه يَشفيكا

مِن كلِّ داءٍ وَباِسمِ اللَّه أَرقيكا

مِن كلِّ داءٍ وَباِسمِ اللَّه أَرقيكا

May my Lord grant you health, and I hope God will heal you

May my Lord grant you well-being, and I hope Allah will heal you,

Of every ailment; in God's name I recite healing prayers over you.

From every malady. And in Allah's name I chant protection over you.

داواكَ رَبّي وَلَم تحوج إِلى أَحدٍ

داواكَ رَبّي وَلَم تحوج إِلى أَحدٍ

وَعن دوا غَيرِه لا زالَ يُغنيكا

وَعن دوا غَيرِه لا زالَ يُغنيكا

May my Lord heal you, and may you need no one,

My Lord has cured you, so you need no one.

And may He ever spare you the need for another's remedy.

And the cure of others does not cease to suffice you.

وَقاكَ ربّي مِنَ الأَسواءِ أَجمعها

وَقاكَ ربّي مِنَ الأَسواءِ أَجمعها

وَدامَ مِنها مَدى الأَزمانِ يَحميكا

وَدامَ مِنها مَدى الأَزمانِ يَحميكا

May my Lord protect you from all evils,

My Lord has protected you from all harms,

And may He ever protect you from them throughout the ages.

And will continue protecting you as long as time continues.

فَما بِوَاقٍ سِوى مَولايَ نَعلمهُ

فَما بِوَاقٍ سِوى مَولايَ نَعلمهُ

وَلا بِكافٍ سِوى مَولاكَ يَكفيكا

وَلا بِكافٍ سِوى مَولاكَ يَكفيكا

For we know no protector but my Lord,

We know of no helper except our Master,

And none but your Lord suffices for you.

And of no sufficient one except your Master who suffices you.

سَلِّمْ إِلَيهِ وَمنهُ فاِرْجُ عافيةً

سَلِّمْ إِلَيهِ وَمنهُ فاِرْجُ عافيةً

فَهوَ المُعافي الّذي حَقّاً يُعافيكا

فَهوَ المُعافي الّذي حَقّاً يُعافيكا

Submit to Him, and hope for health from Him,

Entrust yourself to Him, and through Him hope for wellness,

For He is the giver of health, who truly restores your health.

For He is the Healer who truly grants you health.

وَالطِبُّ فيهِ أُمِرنا وهو ليس مُنَا

وَالطِبُّ فيهِ أُمِرنا وهو ليس مُنَا

فِيَ اِتِّكالٍ على ربٍّ يداويكا

فِيَ اِتِّكالٍ على ربٍّ يداويكا

We are commanded to seek medical treatment, and it does not conflict

Medicine is by His command, and it is not up to us.

With reliance on a Lord who heals you.

Rather, rely on the Lord who heals you.

يا مُصطَفى المَجدِ وَالعلياءِ مِن شَرفٍ

يا مُصطَفى المَجدِ وَالعلياءِ مِن شَرفٍ

في ذَروَةِ العزِّ قَد حَلَّت مَعاليكا

في ذَروَةِ العزِّ قَد حَلَّت مَعاليكا

O Mustafa of glory and eminence, possessed of nobility,

O Mustafa, pride and nobility of lineage,

Your lofty distinctions have settled at the summit of honor.

At the pinnacle of honor, your glories abound.

يا جَوهَرَ السّؤدد المَكنونِ في أَدَبٍ

يا جَوهَرَ السّؤدد المَكنونِ في أَدَبٍ

أَيُّ الجَواهِرِ في قدرٍ يُساويكا

أَيُّ الجَواهِرِ في قدرٍ يُساويكا

O jewel of nobility, concealed within refinement,

O essence of hidden perfection embodied in manners,

What jewel equals you in worth?

What jewel can equal your worth?

يا كَعبَةَ الفَضلِ حجّتها أَفاضِلُنا

يا كَعبَةَ الفَضلِ حجّتها أَفاضِلُنا

فَأَيّ بَحرٍ أَخا الإِتقانِ يَحكيكا

فَأَيّ بَحرٍ أَخا الإِتقانِ يَحكيكا

O Kaaba of excellence, to which our finest men have made pilgrimage,

O Kaaba of virtue whose pilgrims are the virtuous,

Then what sea could match you, O brother of mastery?

What ocean can tell your story of excellence?

يا ديمَةَ الجودِ لَم تمسِك هواطِلُها

يا ديمَةَ الجودِ لَم تمسِك هواطِلُها

فَأَيّ وَبلٍ حَكى هطَّالَ أَيديكا

فَأَيّ وَبلٍ حَكى هطَّالَ أَيديكا

O steady rain of generosity, whose downpours have never ceased,

O raincloud of generosity whose showers do not cease,

Then what downpour could match the abundant flow of your hands?

What meadows can describe the downpour of your hands?

اللَّهُ مِن حبِّه إِيّاكَ في مَرض

اللَّهُ مِن حبِّه إِيّاكَ في مَرض

قَدِ اِبتَلاكَ لِقربٍ مِنهُ يُدنيكا

قَدِ اِبتَلاكَ لِقربٍ مِنهُ يُدنيكا

God, out of His love for you, through illness

From His love for you, in illness

Has tested you to draw you nearer to Him.

God has tested you to bring you nearer to Him.

لِكَي تَنالَ جَزيلَ الأَجرِ فيهِ كَذا

لِكَي تَنالَ جَزيلَ الأَجرِ فيهِ كَذا

بِهِ بِدارِ البقا تَعلو مَراقِيكا

بِهِ بِدارِ البقا تَعلو مَراقِيكا

So that you may gain abundant reward through it, and thus

So you may attain abundant reward through it,

Through it your ranks rise in the abode of eternity.

And by it, ascend to high degrees in the Abode of Eternity.

لَكِن رَجائي بِأَن تُحبى بِعافِيةٍ

لَكِن رَجائي بِأَن تُحبى بِعافِيةٍ

مَدى الزَّمانِ لَنا تُرضِي وتُرضيكا

مَدى الزَّمانِ لَنا تُرضِي وتُرضيكا

But my hope is that you may be granted health

But my hope is that you will be blessed with wellness

For all time, pleasing us and pleasing you.

For our pleasure and yours, for as long as time continues.

إِنّي تَكَدَّرت لَمّا أَن سَمِعتُ بهِ

إِنّي تَكَدَّرت لَمّا أَن سَمِعتُ بهِ

وَقَد تَمنّيتُ لَو بِالرّوحِ أَفديكا

وَقَد تَمنّيتُ لَو بِالرّوحِ أَفديكا

I was distressed when I heard of it,

I was saddened when I heard of it,

And I wished I could ransom you with my soul.

And wished I could redeem you with my soul.

لَكِنَّ ربّي لَطيفٌ وَهوَ ذو كَرَمٍ

لَكِنَّ ربّي لَطيفٌ وَهوَ ذو كَرَمٍ

قَد مَنَّ سُبحانَهُ مِن لُطفِهِ فيكا

قَد مَنَّ سُبحانَهُ مِن لُطفِهِ فيكا

But my Lord is gentle, and He is generous;

But my Lord is Gentle and Generous.

He—glory be to Him—has favored you out of His kindness.

Glorified is He! By His kindness towards you,

أَزالَهُ عَنكَ إِحساناً وَتكرمَةً

أَزالَهُ عَنكَ إِحساناً وَتكرمَةً

وَأَذهَبَ البأسَ رَبُّ البأسِ باريكا

وَأَذهَبَ البأسَ رَبُّ البأسِ باريكا

He removed it from you as a kindness and an honor,

He has removed it from you graciously and nobly,

And the Lord of suffering, your Creator, banished suffering.

And the Lord of Power has eliminated the harm.

وَجادَ فَضلاً عَلَينا في شفاكَ لَنا

وَجادَ فَضلاً عَلَينا في شفاكَ لَنا

وَالحَمدُ للَّهِ مَولانا وَمَولاكا

وَالحَمدُ للَّهِ مَولانا وَمَولاكا

And bestowed His bounty upon us in healing you for us;

He has bestowed favor upon us in healing you,

And praise be to God, our Lord and your Lord.

Praise be to Allah, our and your Master.

وَإِن يَكُن مِنهُ آثارٌ لَقَد بَقِيَت

وَإِن يَكُن مِنهُ آثارٌ لَقَد بَقِيَت

لا تَخشَ مِنها فَإِنّ اللَّه شافيكا

لا تَخشَ مِنها فَإِنّ اللَّه شافيكا

And if traces of it have indeed remained,

And if any traces remain, fear them not,

Do not fear them, for God is your healer.

For God is your Healer.

إِنّي أُهنّيكَ جَذلاناً بعافيةٍ

إِنّي أُهنّيكَ جَذلاناً بعافيةٍ

وَأَنتَ مُستَوجب أَنّي أُهنِّيكا

وَأَنتَ مُستَوجب أَنّي أُهنِّيكا

I joyfully congratulate you on your good health,

I congratulate you sincerely on your well-being,

And you are worthy of my congratulations.

And you deserve my congratulations.

هَنّاكَ ربّي بِها طولَ الزَّمانِ ولا

هَنّاكَ ربّي بِها طولَ الزَّمانِ ولا

يَزالُ فيها بِطولِ الدَّهرِ يوفيكا

يَزالُ فيها بِطولِ الدَّهرِ يوفيكا

May my Lord gladden you with it for all time, and never

May my Lord grant it to you for all time

Cease to grant it to you in full throughout the ages.

And keep providing it for you for the duration of existence.

حَيّاكَ ربّي وَأَحياكَ الزّمانَ لنا

حَيّاكَ ربّي وَأَحياكَ الزّمانَ لنا

طَويل عُمرٍ وَربّي اللَّهُ يُبقيكا

طَويل عُمرٍ وَربّي اللَّهُ يُبقيكا

May my Lord bless you and keep you alive for us through time,

May my Lord give you life and extend your life for us,

With a long life; may my Lord, God, preserve you.

A long lifetime, and may Allah sustain you.

وَدُمْ بِحِفظِ إِلَه العَرشِ في نِعَمٍ

وَدُمْ بِحِفظِ إِلَه العَرشِ في نِعَمٍ

رَغيدَ عَيشٍ بِلا سوءٍ يدانيكا

رَغيدَ عَيشٍ بِلا سوءٍ يدانيكا

And remain under the protection of the God of the Throne, amid blessings,

Remain in the protection of the God of the Throne, in blessings,

Living at ease, with no evil drawing near you.

A pleasant life, untouched by any evil that comes near you.

تَعيشُ عَيشاً هَنيئاً لا نَظيرَ لَهُ

تَعيشُ عَيشاً هَنيئاً لا نَظيرَ لَهُ

وَأَهلك اللَّهُ مَن أَضحى يُعاديكا

وَأَهلك اللَّهُ مَن أَضحى يُعاديكا

May you live a pleasant life that has no equal,

You will live a blissful life that has no equal,

And may God destroy whoever turns hostile toward you.

And may God destroy any who harbor enmity against you.

وَدُمتَ تَرقى بروجَ العِزّ في فَلكٍ

وَدُمتَ تَرقى بروجَ العِزّ في فَلكٍ

مِنَ العُلى وَبِها ينمو ترقِّيكا

مِنَ العُلى وَبِها ينمو ترقِّيكا

And may you keep ascending honor's mansions in a celestial sphere

May you continue ascending to the zenith, in a sphere

Of eminence, through which your ascent grows.

Of loftiness, therein growing your ascent.

ما لاحَ في الأفقِ نجمٌ ما بَدا قَمَرٌ

ما لاحَ في الأفقِ نجمٌ ما بَدا قَمَرٌ

ما هَتَّك الصّبح سترَ اللّيلِ تَهتيكا

ما هَتَّك الصّبح سترَ اللّيلِ تَهتيكا

As long as a star shines on the horizon, as long as a moon appears,

The dawn has not shone, nor has a star emerged,

As long as dawn tears the veil of night asunder,

The moon has not risen, nor has morning unveiled the night's veils,

ما الفَتحُ أَنشدَ يَدعو وَهوَ مُبتهلٌ

ما الفَتحُ أَنشدَ يَدعو وَهوَ مُبتهلٌ

عافاكَ رَبّي وَأَرجو اللَّه يَشفيكا

عافاكَ رَبّي وَأَرجو اللَّه يَشفيكا

As long as al-Fath recites, praying in humble supplication:

Victory has not been proclaimed, calling in hopeful prayer:

May my Lord grant you health, and I hope God will heal you.

May my Lord grant you well-being, and I hope Allah will heal you.
