إِنّ مَحسوبَكَ الّذي بِكَ يَسمو

إِنّ مَحسوبَكَ الّذي بِكَ يَسمو

لا تُؤاخِذْه لو هَفا أيَّ هَفوِ

لا تُؤاخِذْه لو هَفا أيَّ هَفوِ

Indeed, your protégé, who rises through you—

He who is exalted due to his tie with you

do not hold him to account if he commits any lapse.

Spare him, should he make some blunder

فَلِئامُ الأنامِ أَهلٌ لِحِقدٍ

فَلِئامُ الأنامِ أَهلٌ لِحِقدٍ

وكرامُ الأنامِ أهلٌ لعفوِ

وكرامُ الأنامِ أهلٌ لعفوِ

For the base among humankind are given to rancor,

For the vile among mankind are prone to spite

and the noble among humankind are given to pardon.

While the noble among mankind are prone to pardon
