لَقَدindeed ذَهَبَdeparted الحَبيبُthe beloved وَغابَand vanished عنّيfrom me
لَقَد ذَهَبَ الحَبيبُ وَغابَ عنّي
فَعَنّيthus, from me الشّمسthe sun غابَتvanished بِالضّياءِwith its radiance
فَعَنّي الشّمس غابَت بِالضّياءِ
Indeed, the beloved has gone and vanished from me.
My beloved has gone and vanished from me
Thus the sun vanished from me, along with its radiance.
So the sun has vanished from me in its light
فَقلتso I said إِذِwhen السّماthe sky لِلشّمسِthe sun (as object) أَبدَتrevealed
فَقلت إِذِ السّما لِلشّمسِ أَبدَت
لَقَدindeed صَعَدَascended الحَبيبthe beloved إِلىto السّماءِthe sky
لَقَد صَعَدَ الحَبيب إِلى السّماءِ
So I said, when the sky revealed the sun:
I said, since the sky revealed itself to the sun
Indeed, the beloved has ascended to the sky.
My beloved has surely ascended to the sky
