In my beloved’s palm, two roses appeared:
In my beloved's hand were two roses
one yellow and one red, by surmise and certainty.
That opened, one yellow and one red, through Hope and Certainty,
فَقالَthen he said ليَto me الصّفراءُthe yellow one وَجنَةُthe cheek of عاشِقيmy lover
فَقالَ ليَ الصّفراءُ وَجنَةُ عاشِقي
وَقُلتُand I said لَهُto him الحَمراءُthe red one وَجنَةُthe cheek of مَعشوقيmy beloved
وَقُلتُ لَهُ الحَمراءُ وَجنَةُ مَعشوقي
He said to me, “The yellow one is my lover’s cheek,”
So the yellow one said to me "This is the Garden of my lover"
and I said to him, “The red one is my beloved’s cheek.”
And the red one said to him "This is the Garden of my beloved."
