الجَهلُignorance عُذرٌan excuse وَلَيسَand is not العلمُknowledge مَعذرةًan excuse
الجَهلُ عُذرٌ وَلَيسَ العلمُ مَعذرةً
وَإِنَّand indeed ذاthis الأَمرِmatter بَينَamong النَّاسِpeople مَشهورُwell known
وَإِنَّ ذا الأَمرِ بَينَ النَّاسِ مَشهورُ
Ignorance is an excuse, but knowledge is no excuse.
Ignorance is an excuse, but knowledge is no justification
And indeed, this matter is well known among people.
This matter is well known among people
فَالعالمso the scholar النَّدبcapable لَمdid not تَنفَعهُbenefit him مَعذِرةٌan excuse
فَالعالم النَّدب لَم تَنفَعهُ مَعذِرةٌ
وَالجاهِلُand the ignorant man الغَمْرُinexperienced بَينَamong النَّاسِpeople مَعذورُexcused
وَالجاهِلُ الغَمْرُ بَينَ النَّاسِ مَعذورُ
So no excuse availed the capable scholar.
So the scholar's remorse is of no use to him
And the ignorant, inexperienced man is excused among people.
While the ignorant person is excused among the people
