أَفديكَI would ransom you ياO أَيُّهاyou (vocative) المسكيُّal-Miski (the musky one) فيin مهَجٍhearts
أَفديكَ يا أَيُّها المسكيُّ في مهَجٍ
طيّبتَنيyou perfumed me بِشَذاكَwith your fragrance الفائقِsurpassing السَّكِّsakk perfume
طيّبتَني بِشَذاكَ الفائقِ السَّكِّ
I would ransom you, O al-Miski, who dwells in hearts.
I offer myself for your sake, oh musky one with perfumed interior
You have perfumed me with your fragrance, surpassing sakk perfume.
You have delighted me with your exquisite fragrance
فَإِنfor if يَكُنis كلُّevery طيبٍfragrance منكَfrom you منشؤُهُits source
فَإِن يَكُن كلُّ طيبٍ منكَ منشؤُهُ
فَلاthen no اِرتِيابَdoubt فَكلُّso all العِطرِperfume فيin المسكيal-Miski (the musky one)
فَلا اِرتِيابَ فَكلُّ العِطرِ في المسكي
For if every fragrance has its source in you,
If all sweetness springs from you
then there is no doubt: all perfume is in al-Miski.
Then doubtless all perfume is in the musky one
