بِروحيwith my soul (as ransom) جَميلٌa handsome one لاnot يُحاكىis matched جَمالُهُhis beauty
بِروحي جَميلٌ لا يُحاكى جَمالُهُ
لَقَدindeed نَهَبَplundered الأَرواحَthe spirits ثمَّthen النُّفوساthe souls
لَقَد نَهَبَ الأَرواحَ ثمَّ النُّفوسا
I would give my soul for a handsome one whose beauty cannot be matched.
My spirit has a beauty that cannot be matched
He has indeed plundered spirits, then souls.
It has plundered souls and then minds
فَلَوso if أَنَّهُhe أَعطىgave النُّجومَthe stars جَمالَهُhis beauty
فَلَو أَنَّهُ أَعطى النُّجومَ جَمالَهُ
لَصِرنَthey would surely become بُدوراًfull moons فيin السّماthe sky وَشُموساand suns
لَصِرنَ بُدوراً في السّما وَشُموسا
So if he gave the stars his beauty,
If it had given its beauty to the stars
They would surely become full moons in the sky, and suns.
They would have become full moons in the sky and suns
