1. أَحمَدُ اللَّه إِلَهي

    مَن حَبانا خَيرَ نِعمَهْ

    I praise Allah, my God,

    who bestowed on us the finest blessing:

  2. نِعمَة الإِسلامِ ديناً

    نَحنُ فيها خَير أُمَّه

    the blessing of Islam as a religion,

    in which we are the best community.

  3. وَصَلاتي وَسَلامي

    لِنَبِيٍّ جاءَ رَحمَه

    And my prayers and my salutations

    are for a prophet who came as a mercy,

  4. مَن مَحا نورُ هُداه

    مِن ضَلال كلّ ظلمَه

    whose light of guidance erased

    every darkness of misguidance.

  5. أَيّها السّائل مِنِّي

    طالِباً فَتوى مُهِمَّه

    O you who question me,

    seeking an important legal ruling:

  6. فَلِراءٍ وَرد رَوض

    قَد أَباحَ الشّرعُ شَمَّه

    so, for one who sees a garden's rose,

    religious law has permitted smelling it;

  7. وَلِراءٍ وَرد خدٍّ

    لَو حَلالاً أن يشمَّه

    and for one who sees a cheek's rose,

    if it were lawful to smell it;

  8. وَلِمَن هامَ بِظَبيٍ

    إِن حَلالاً أَن يَضمَّه

    and for one enamored of a gazelle,

    if it is lawful to embrace it.

  9. إِنَّ هَذا شَرعُ طَه

    فَهوَ حقّ وَهوَ حِكمَه

    Indeed, this is the law of Taha:

    so it is truth, and it is wisdom.

  10. وَلِأَهلِ العِشقِ شَرع

    يَعلَمُ الوَلهان حُكمه

    And lovers have a law

    whose ruling the lovesick one knows.

  11. إِنّ هَذا القَدرَ كافٍ

    لَكَ في هَذي المُهِمَّه

    Indeed, this much is enough

    for you in this important matter.
