أَناI عَبدٌa servant لَكُمْfor you فيin كُلِّevery وَقْتٍtime
أَنا عَبدٌ لَكُمْ في كُلِّ وَقْتٍ
وَلَوْand even if أَصبَحْتُI became عَلّامَa great scholar الزّمانِthe age
وَلَوْ أَصبَحْتُ عَلّامَ الزّمانِ
I am your servant at every moment,
I am your servant at all times
Even if I became the great scholar of the age.
Even if I were to become the most learned man of this age
فَلولاكُمْfor, were it not for you لَماwould not have قَدْindeed رَقّbecame gentle طَبعيmy nature
فَلولاكُمْ لَما قَدْ رَقّ طَبعي
وَلَمand did not أَدْرِI know الغِناءَsinging مِنَfrom المَثانيthe lute strings
وَلَم أَدْرِ الغِناءَ مِنَ المَثاني
For without you, my nature would not have grown gentle,
Without you, my nature would not have softened
Nor would I have known the song of the lute strings.
Nor would I have known singing from poetry
فَيَكْفيكَso it suffices you الفَخارُglory علىover البَراياall creation
فَيَكْفيكَ الفَخارُ على البَرايا
بِإِقْراريthrough my acknowledgment بِذلِكَof that كُلَّevery آنِmoment
بِإِقْراري بِذلِكَ كُلَّ آنِ
So you have glory enough over all creation,
So it is enough for you to take pride over mankind
Through my acknowledgment of that at every moment.
With my admission of that at all times
