أَنا المُحتاجُ لِلغُفرانِ دَوماً

أَنا المُحتاجُ لِلغُفرانِ دَوماً

وَأَكبرُ نَعمَةٍ أَنّي شَهيدُ

وَأَكبرُ نَعمَةٍ أَنّي شَهيدُ

I am always in need of forgiveness.

I am always in need of forgiveness,

And the greatest blessing is that I am a martyr.

And my greatest blessing is that I am a martyr.

وَسِبطُ الكزبريِّ أَبي المعالي

وَسِبطُ الكزبريِّ أَبي المعالي

وَجَدّي شاكرٌ وَاِسمي سَعيدُ

وَجَدّي شاكرٌ وَاِسمي سَعيدُ

And I am the maternal grandson of al-Kuzbari, Abu al-Ma'ali.

I am the grandson of Al-Kuzbari, my father is the most eminent,

And my grandfather is Shakir, and my name is Sa'id.

My grandfather is grateful and my name is Sa'eed.

وَقَد أَيقَنتُ أَنّ الخَلقَ تَفنى

وَقَد أَيقَنتُ أَنّ الخَلقَ تَفنى

وَكأس المَوتِ تَشربُه العَبيدُ

وَكأس المَوتِ تَشربُه العَبيدُ

And I have become certain that all creation perishes.

I have realized that all creation perishes,

And the servants drink the cup of death.

And the chalice of death is drunk by all slaves.

وَعَنهُ لَم أَجدْ أرّخت بدّاً

وَعَنهُ لَم أَجدْ أرّخت بدّاً

وَفي الفِردَوسِ طابَ لِيَ الخلودُ

وَفي الفِردَوسِ طابَ لِيَ الخلودُ

And I found no escape from it—I recorded the date:

I found no escape from it,

And in Paradise, eternal life became sweet to me.

But in Paradise, eternal bliss awaits me.
