أَحسِنْ بِهذا السّلسبيلِ الّذي

أَحسِنْ بِهذا السّلسبيلِ الّذي

في مائِهِ اللّذَّةُ للشَّارِبينْ

في مائِهِ اللّذَّةُ للشَّارِبينْ

How splendid this sweet-flowing fountain, whose

Drink from this sweet brook whose

Water holds delight for those who drink!

Water is delight for those who drink it.

لَهُ سُليمان الزّمانِ اِبتَنى

لَهُ سُليمان الزّمانِ اِبتَنى

واللَّهُ في بُنيانِهِ كانَ المُعين

واللَّهُ في بُنيانِهِ كانَ المُعين

Sulayman of the age had it built,

It was built by Solomon in his time,

And God was the helper in its construction.

And God assisted in its construction.

يا أَهلَ عَكّاءَ هَلُمّوا اِستَقوا

يا أَهلَ عَكّاءَ هَلُمّوا اِستَقوا

وَأَكثِروا الشّربَ بِمَرِّ السنين

وَأَكثِروا الشّربَ بِمَرِّ السنين

O people of Acre, come and draw water,

O people of Acre, come and drink

And drink abundantly through the passing years.

And enjoy much drink as the years go by.

أَيَخشى أَرَّخت نَشفٌ لَهُ

أَيَخشى أَرَّخت نَشفٌ لَهُ

وَاللَّه يَأتيكم بِماءٍ مَعين

وَاللَّه يَأتيكم بِماءٍ مَعين

Is its drying up to be feared—I marked the date—

Should it fear drought has left it dry?

While God brings you flowing water?

God will send water to you in steady supply.
