يا حُسنَ ذا سَلسَبيلٌ زَها

يا حُسنَ ذا سَلسَبيلٌ زَها

وَماؤُهُ أَحلى مِنَ السّكَّرِ

وَماؤُهُ أَحلى مِنَ السّكَّرِ

How lovely this sweet-flowing fountain, resplendent!

O beauty with soft flowing hair

And its water is sweeter than sugar.

Whose water is sweeter than sugar

حَيثُ الوَزيرُ الشّهم رَبّ النّدى

حَيثُ الوَزيرُ الشّهم رَبّ النّدى

بَناهُ بِالغالي مِنَ المَرمَرِ

بَناهُ بِالغالي مِنَ المَرمَرِ

Where the noble-hearted vizier, lord of generosity,

Where the brave minister, master of generosity

built it with costly marble.

Built it with great expense of marble

وَاللَّهُ يَجزيهِ بِحُسنِ الجزا

وَاللَّهُ يَجزيهِ بِحُسنِ الجزا

بِذلكَ الخَيرِ لَدى المَحشَرِ

بِذلكَ الخَيرِ لَدى المَحشَرِ

And may God reward him with a fine recompense

And God will reward him with good reward

for that good deed at the Gathering of the Resurrection.

For that good, on the day of gathering

فَهوَ لَنا أَرّخته واصلٌ

فَهوَ لَنا أَرّخته واصلٌ

وَاللّه يَسقيهِ مِنَ الكَوثَرِ

وَاللّه يَسقيهِ مِنَ الكَوثَرِ

Thus he extends kindness to us—I have recorded its date—

So it is for us a sheltering pillar

and may God give him drink from al-Kawthar.

And God will give him drink from the Abundance
