ماhow أَحسَنَbeautiful الشّمسthe sun فيat حينِthe time of الغُروبِsunset بَدَتit appeared
ما أَحسَنَ الشّمس في حينِ الغُروبِ بَدَت
وَحَولهاand around it الشّفقُthe twilight glow المُحمرُّreddening فيon الأفقِِthe horizon
وَحَولها الشّفقُ المُحمرُّ في الأفقِِ
How lovely the sun appeared at the hour of setting,
How beautiful the sun appeared at sunset,
with the reddening afterglow around it on the horizon:
With the red twilight glow around it on the horizon!
فَصّa gem كَبيرٌlarge مِنَof الأَلماسِdiamond دايِرةround in shape
فَصّ كَبيرٌ مِنَ الأَلماسِ دايِرة
لَقَدindeed تَركّبhas been set فيin ياقوتَةِthe ruby of الشّفقِthe twilight
لَقَد تَركّب في ياقوتَةِ الشّفقِ
a great, round diamond,
A large diamond gem, round in shape,
set within the ruby of the afterglow.
It has indeed been set in the ruby of twilight.
