How lovely a river, with flowers scattered,
Oh beauty of a river as flowers are scattered
Floating upon it, while its mouth is smiling!
Floating upon it, though its mouth smiles
لَمّاwhen تَزَوَّجَit married بِالصَّباwith the east breeze فَرحاًout of joy بِهِover it

When it wed the east breeze, in her joy over it,
When it was wed to the morning breeze happily
She scattered silver coins upon it from the branches.
It scattered upon it from the branches its pearls
