فَسَبىso he captivated عُقولَthe minds of النّاسِthe people وَالنسّاكِand the ascetics
He slept face down, with his head raised,
Lying prone, his head held high,
and so captivated the minds of people and ascetics.
He captivated people's minds and ascetics alike,
وَالرّدفand the rump مِنهُof him إذwhen تَرَجرَجَit quivered راقِصاًdancing
فَكَأَنّهُso it seemed like دَوّاسَتاtwo treadles of حَيّاكِa weaver
And his rump, when it quivered in a dance,
His ample hind swaying as he pranced about,
seemed like a weaver's two treadles.
As though weaving for them a lively tapestry.
