He has a forehead like the sun; its light shone brightly.
His brow is like the sun whose brilliance shone
So, because of it, the full moon of night became unrecognizable.
making the full moon dark unrecognised
وَبيand for me حاجِباهُhis two eyebrows حاجِبانِboth screening شعاعُهاits radiance
وَبي حاجِباهُ حاجِبانِ شعاعُها

عَنِ المُقَلِ المرضى فَلَم يكُ يُشرفُ
And for me his two brows screen its radiance
above his eyebrows the sunbeams play
from ailing eyes, so it did not shine upon them.
illuminating eyes once sick, now opening wide
فَكَالشَّمسِso, like the sun إِنif يطلُعْrises علىupon الطّرفِthe eye ضَوؤهاits light
فَكَالشَّمسِ إِن يطلُعْ على الطّرفِ ضَوؤها
فَمِنهُso from it يكلُّgrows weary الطرفُthe eye قَطعاًcertainly ويضعفُand weakens
فَمِنهُ يكلُّ الطرفُ قَطعاً ويضعفُ
For, as with the sun, if its light rises before the eye,
Like when the sun peeks o'er the horizon, its light
the eye surely grows weary and weak from it.
weakens all other lights till they're nullified
