يُقاسِمُنيhe shares with me الرّوحَthe soul وَالمالَand the wealth قَسراby force
يُقاسِمُني الرّوحَ وَالمالَ قَسرا
وَقالَand he said بِروحِكَover your soul حُكميmy rule وَمالكْand your wealth
وَقالَ بِروحِكَ حُكمي وَمالكْ
He forcibly takes a share of my soul and wealth,
He forcibly shares my spirit and wealth
And said, “Your soul and wealth are under my rule.”
And said "By your spirit and wealth is my rule"
تَعدّىhe transgressed عَلىagainst ذاكَthat ظُلماًunjustly فَأَضحىand so he became
تَعدّى عَلى ذاكَ ظُلماً فَأَضحى
يُقاسِمُhe takes a share مِنfrom غَيرِabsence of وَجهٍjustification لِذلِكfor that
يُقاسِمُ مِن غَيرِ وَجهٍ لِذلِك
He unjustly encroached upon that, and so began
He oppressed in that an injustice, so he became
Taking a share without any justification for it.
